CONVERTING THE DOUBTERS

A couple of months ago, I had dinner with a friend who is an MD (medical doctor), an internist.  He asked me how the massage business was going.  I said, “What massage business?”  He looked surprised and said, “Isn’t that what chiropractors do…massage? My friend is not the first person to believe that all chiropractors do is massage.  As a matter of fact, most Doctors of Chiropractic have not been thoroughly trained in all the different massage techniques.  Chiropractors are primary care doctors…this means that I can see anyone that walks in off the street or calls me themselves to make an appointment – no referral required.  My internist friend proceeded to “grill” me on anatomy and physiology.  He was so impressed with my knowledge that he made an appointment to come see me himself for his recurring back pain.  Refer me to your brother Jack who complains of back pain; at Blue Ribbon Chiropractic, We’ve Got His Back and will turn his complaints to compliments in no time.
